Whats Up

This is not up yet on my design wall but it will be. Now it will take a year before it will look like this but I am so in love with this design the thought of having to wait a year seems cruel but it's really not like I will be getting right to it anyway with that UFO'S list I have. Now this is a BOM that Reeze at Morning Glory Quilts Has design for 2015. What do you think? You love it too! I'm putting a link on my side bar to her blog to use whenever you need to get there any time.  Next task is going through my stash to see what I have. I can work that in as part of my organizing my sewing room. But what's up on my wall right now is nothing, so I have no picture to show at this time. Sorry.

My Sunday of Catching Up

I spent the day catching up on season 4 of Downton Abbey so I would be ready for tonight premier of season 5. I also did a little cleaning up in the sewing room and getting some of my projects organized to work on. One of those projects was this applique wallhanging I have been doing. Right now I'm working on embroidery the details. I so love this pattern. I found it in a Quiltmania magazine from a few years ago. This is what I'll be stitching on while watching tv tonight. This is one that was on my list of UFO's and takes priority to be finished by the end of the year.

Upcoming events this week

There are 2 events coming up that I wanted to share with you. First one is the Pantry Challenge  over at Good Cheap Eats. Jessica challenges us to eat from what we have in our pantry instead of going out and buy. I have been doing her challenges for the past couple years and I love the challenge. You need to go to the link above to her site and get tips on taking inventory, menus and recipes. It's a month long deal and the rewards are using up food that needs to be and not being toss out cause its too old and other good thing is seeing how much money you can save. I need to do my inventory still, that is on tomorrow "to do list" The second event is the Oklahoma Wildlife Winter Bird Survey. So if you live in Oklahoma maybe you might consider joining in. Doesn't matter where you live, whether you're in town or out in the country. It starts Thursday the 8th. I am loaded up with bird feed and have been putting it out for a time now to encourage

My Goals for 2015

While cleaning up my blog and taking inventory of all the quilts I have in various stages. I realize that if I'm going to get a portion of these done I need to make it public. What better place then on the blog. So here is what I wanted to share with you. I wrote down a page for ones started, a page for ones I have everything for but not started and a page for tops that need quilting or binding.  Now does anyone else have so many too. Please say I'm not alone. Chooky, I want you to know I'm not giving up on my Some Kind of Wonderful quilt.... It's on the list. Then after seeing so many others share their goals for 2015, I thought I would do the same. I believe it will help me by being accountable and again by going public.  Like Marvis I'm picking 12 main ones to focus on for the whole year, giving me 365 days to complete. Here they are; Organize my sewing room;  this alone could take a year. OK kidding aside it is a big

Happy New Year 2015

Wishing you all the best for this new year. One of my resolutions is to reestablish my passion I have had for blogging. So everyday this month I am devoting some time to my blog.  Whether it's posting, planning or cleaning up my blog. So today I am going to spend some time cleaning up some the old stuff I have on the side bars. I am devoted to remaining to be an ad free blogger. I'm hoping you are to able to start on your resolutions too, if you made any.

Yarn Along 12/3/14

I've been planning to knit "the little dudes" some slippers and trying to figure out how to make the pattern I use look like Thomas the train. The boys love their trains. Then I came across this pattern on Ravelry.   Thomas the Train Slippers They are cute, not knitted but crochet, which is fine cause I know how.  In my stash there is all the colors needed.  I haven't started them yet, just found the pattern but sure hope they turn out as cute as the ones in the picture. What I have been listening to is book 2 of the Outlander Series written by   Diana Gabaldon I'm not one for Historical Romance books but I have enjoyed this one. Being one who doesn't read those type of books, I'm not sure if it is consider a true romance, all I know is there is more seductive parts than I'm normally read. Its the body of the rest of her work that keeps me fascinated. I love history and there is plenty of details that I

It's Monday what's up

It's a very cold day again here in northeast Oklahoma. So most of my day will be at sewing. I'm working on, which I didn't think I would start, Bonnie Hunter's new mystery quilt.  Right now I'm working on the half square triangles which you need 280 of . Then I will start sewing units together and should have that done with no problems today.  Ree Drummonds picture  I think for dinner I'm going to make hamburger soup. It's a Ree Drummond  (fellow Oklahoman) recipe over on Pioneer Woman's website. I've made it before and it's such a yummy recipe. Going to use some of my grass fed beef that we raised and some of the vegetables from the garden. Lots of veggies . Then some biscuits.   I also hope to  get two blocks cut and prepped ready for my gray and yellow Nested Churn Dash blocks.  And hopefully I can move right along today and start cutting out the panels for the little dudes cloth books I'm making for Ch
